High Sierra is a proud supporter of Barbara Hillary. Barbara Hillary is the first African-American woman on record to reach the North Pole. Her world record is made more astonishing by the fact that she was 75 years old when she skied there. While raising the funds herself, she underwent a grueling training regimen during which she first learned to ski and then trained to pull her own supplies behind her. She then set out on the journey she would later call "a combination of heaven and hell,—finally reaching the Pole on April 23, 2007.

The Team LUNA Chix Pro are the top ranked women's mountain bike team in the world with two Olympians. The LUNA pros are part of the larger Team LUNA Chix program comprised of groups of women in their local communities who swim, play, run or ride as often as they can. The Pacific Crest Trail Association is created to protect the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as an internationally significant resource. High Sierra regularly donates Drop-Bottom Wheeled Duffels and for 2009 the company will also donate approximately 450 Talus lumbar packs for its Trail Fest attendee goodie bags. Trail Fest brings awareness to the National Trails System Act, which designated the Pacific Crest Trail as a National Scenic Trail in 1968.

Thirty-two teams of two travel around the world doing cultural-oriented scavenges in 10 countries on 4 continents over a 23-day period (April 11 to May 3, 2008) and crown The World's Greatest Travelers when it concludes. High Sierra recently announced an agreement with the United States Ski & Snowboard Association to become an official supplier to the U.S. Ski Team. HSSC produces customized backpacks, boot bags and wheeled duffels for the athletes, whose rigorous travel schedule requires durable, efficient and easy to use luggage. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding, managing competition and athletic programs coast-to-coast.
